Cheese Counter at Grovetown Kroger
Looking for a new place to sample the cheese selection? Well, it just so happens that a new Kroger opened up in Grovetown, GA this September. It is somewhat of a “super” Kroger, not only because they sell clothing, but also because of the vast quantity of items offered. The delicatessen rivals that of Whole Foods in size and things available. Tucked away in the corner of this expanse is the cheese bar, conveniently placed near the beer and wine section. While this cheese bar is about half the size of that in the Washington Rd. Kroger, it still has a great variety of things to offer. Not shown in these photos is more of a commercial cheese section with shredded cheddars, pre-packaged blocks, etc, but the true gem is the bar itself. Not only do they have a large offereing, but the cheeses are categorized by the country of origin/style. Of course the types of milk used and tasting notes are there, but the conveninece of origin is quite nice. Say you wanted to throw a Switzerland-themed dinner party for your friends, well there are your choices of cheese to use under the Switzerland label. Bam. Ease of access. There have been several cheesemongers behind the bar both times I have visited the location. Go and pick their brains about cheese pairings and then pick a few delicacies for yourself as well.
